MOONLIT CEMETERY - HALLOWEEN MANI

Hello Ghouls!

Today I have another Halloween mani just to keep them rolling. The look started as something a bit different and then I had re-do the base as it came out too dark and the stamping was almost imperceptible.

What I used:

  • Own mix of polish; base, 2 coats.
  • Winstonia W116; tombstone image.
  • Hehe 036; crows image.
  • MoYou London Mother Nature 14; backdrop tree.
  • Color Club "Harp on it"; backdrop stamping.
  • Mabelle black stamping polish.

I used the double stamping technique, after letting the base dry stamped the backdrop tree and birds with "Harp on it" and then the crows over the fence and the tombstones with black at the front. I liked that the holo on "harp on it" gave it some sort of moonlight effect, so I added the moon on my ring finger just to finish off.

Hope you girls like this.
See next time!

THE CALL OF CTHULHU - HALLOWEEN MANI

Hola Chicas!

Here I am on full swing with my halloween manis and I have lots and lots of ideas so I'm just gonna keep'em rolling.
Today's look is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's horror story "The call of Cthulhu" (and Metallica's song of the same title), gives me the chills just to remember and imagine it!

What I used:

  • Black polish; base 2 coats.
  • Sinful Colors "Green Ocean"; glitter topper.
  • Bundle Monster BM418.
  • Winstonia W217; middle finger image.
  • MDU White
  • Seche vite top coat
After letting the black base dry applied 2 dabbed coats of Green ocean and I took a pic of the base before stamping because is just so gorgeous that I couldn't stop looking at it, it was one of those nail porn moments. Once all dried stamped the tentacles image using MDU White, to give it a more realistic look and depth I colored the image using my own mix of purple and green polishes with a small detail brush.

Just look at it, isn't it beautiful?

Hope you girls enjoy.

STRIGOI -HALLOWEEN MANI

Hola Chicas!

I don't know about you, but I'm so ready for Halloween! Fall is my favorite season, the change in temperature, the October moons, the beautiful rich and intense colors, the flavors oohhh.
So for today's look I wanted to use one of my favorite red shades and I thought it was perfect for a vampire inspired mani.

What I used:

  • Kleancolor "Bite Me"; base 2 coats.
  • OPI "Stainless Steel"; reverse stamping on coffin.
  • Mabelle black stamping polish.
  • Seche vite top coat.
  • Bundle Monster 402; coffin image.
  • Winstonia W221; fangs.
  • Pueen Celebrations Fireworks; wallpaper pattern.

Started off with Bite Me, which is a beautiful crimson red with red micro glitter, it just sparkles like crazy with daylight, one of those that you just can't help staring at. While letting the base dry I did reverse stamping for the fangs and coffin images. Once the base was fully dried I stamped the wallpaper pattern with black polish and on ring and index fingers placed the coffin and fang images, sealed with top coat and done. The look has a bit a of bite but it took me less than half hour to do it. So if you are planning on wearing something allusive on Halloween night this is a good option.

Hope you like it.
See you soon!

SIMPLICITY

Hola Chicas!

I needed a break from all the intricate and time consuming nail art I've been doing lately, but still wear some nice nails, so I whipped up this mani in less than 10 minutes.

What I used:

  • Rimmel London "Night before"; base 2 coats.
  • Color Club "Eternal beauty"; for stamping.
  • Bundle Monster Plate BM403
  • Seche vite top coat.
Mostly I wanted to show off one of my fav shades, which is Night Before, it's absolutely beautiful on it's own but it's like is meant to be with Eternal Beauty and the combo is just gorgeous.

I usually wear a mani for just 2 days but this one I left on until it started chipping. It was a fresh feeling to have something so simple on.
Hope you girls like it too and do your own version.
See you soon!

STAINED GLASS

Hola chicas!

I've been wanted to this kind of design ever since I ordered this plate and I think that the sole reason I bought it was because I imagined how a stained glass will look on my nails. I'm so in love with this plate, really really love it.

To create the look I used the advanced  (or reverse) stamping technique. It takes a while, specially if you are working with multiple stampers instead of a mat but it's totally worth it.

What I used:

  • Bissu "Profundidad Marina"
  • Bissu
  • Kleancolor "Gold"
  • Kleancolor "Metallic Green"
  • Mabelle black; stamping polish.
  • Seche vite top coat.
  • Plate Flowers 09 from aliexpress.

To color the design I mixed the polishes with a bit or clear polish to make them more translucent and give the stained glass effect, then applied using a fine nail art brush.

Like I said, it took me some time, but I was pleased with the end look, thou I always think my pictures never do justice to real life result. Oh well!

See you soon!

HALLOWEEN MANI - SLYTHERIN

Hola Chicas!

Is it too early to start doing Halloween manis? I know I wanted to start early as last year couldn't make but 2 or 3.
For today's look I wanted to use my HeHe Harry Potter plates, which I love but don't have much chance to play with.

What I used:

  • Barry M "Chai"; base 2 coats.
  • Kleancolor "Military Green"; 1 coat.
  • Hehe 033 & 036 stamping plates
  • Color Club "Perfect Molten"; stamping.
  • Color Club "Port-Folio"; stamping.
  • China Glaze " Grafitti Glitter".
  • Seche Vite top coat.

Started off with a coat of Barry M "Chai" on all fingers except ring finger, which has a coat of Military Green by Kleancolor, after letting that dry stamped with "Perfect Molten" and "Port-Folio" using plate 036 I alternated the colors and blend them with the scraper to give a shifting smoke effect.
For the accent nail put a coat of "Grafitti Glitter" and did reverse stamping with plate 033.

For a mani that started with no specific plan in mind I really love how it turned out but it's a shame my photo skills are null and can't show the real life result.

Hope you enjoyed. See you soon!

FALL LEAVES

Hola Chicas,

Today on the blog I have the first fall mani, I'm looking forward for the change of season and all the beautiful colors mother nature puts on display.
I have to say it came out a bit sloppy as I was too impatient and didn't wait long enough for one of the images to be ready before stamping and the colors smudge a bit.
The design is a very simple double stamping with some reverse stamping leaves with a matte finish to make it look more fall-sy.

What I used:

  • Kleancolor "Dark Cherry"; base 2 coats.
  • MoYou London Mother Nature 07 &14; stamping plates.
  • Mabelle in Black; stamping polish.
  • Kleancolor "Jazz Olive"; reverse stamping leaves.
  • Kleancolor "Gold Bright"; reverse stamping.
  • Color Club matte top coat.

Hope you like it.
See you soon!

VIVA MEXICO - MARIPOSA MONARCA

Hola Chicas!

Today I have a mani inspired by the wonderful and just as beautiful Mariposa Monarca or Monarch Butterfly, this little critter makes its annual journey to the Sanctuary in the state of Michoacan before heading back north to Canada.

What I used:

  • Kleancolor "Boogie Nights"; base, 2 coats.
  • Plate BM424 & Pueen SE04A
  • Mabelle black stamping polish
  • Kleancolor "White"; spots detail.
  • Seche Vite top coat.

The bundle monster plate was part of my untried pile, so I tackled that one :) I really liked this mani, shame it chipped in 2 days thanks to seche vite again.

Hope you enjoyed, see you soon!

GRADIENT HOLO FEATHERS

Hola Chicas!

Today's mani is a gradient that started as something completely different from the end result. I added the holo topcoat in my attempts to rescue something I really didn't like and it pay off. HOLO ALL THE THINGS!

What I used:

  • Color Club "Dancing Queen"; base 1 coat.
  • China Glaze "UV Meant to be"; gradient.
  • My own DIY franken polish; darker bit of the gradient.
  • Make up sponge.
  • Kleancolor "Holo  Blue"; top coat.
  • Moyou London Greek 08; stamping plate.
  • Mabelle black; stamping polish.
  • Seche Vite top coat.

Started off with "Dancing Queen" on all fingers, let that dry and using a make up sponge bit I dabbed the darker blue close to the cuticle and then "UV meant to be" blending it down the free edge. After it dried I wasn't too sure so I put on a layer of "Holo Blue" and it made everything better. Oh thank heavens for holo topcoats.
After all those layers dried went on to stamp and then final top coat. Sunlight is always best to appreciate the holo in all its glory.

This mani, as with all holos, is one of those that keep you staring at your nails and all people thinks there is something wrong with you, but who gives a fuck.

See you soon!

VIVA MEXICO - CACTUS MIX UP

Hola chicas!
September is now in full swing and that means I will be focusing on my VIVA MEXICO nail art, so excited:)
Today I have something rather simple, a mix up of suns, cacti and pyramids.

What I used:

  • Kleancolor "Coffee addict"; base 2 coats.
  • MDU "Papyrus"; stamping polish.
  • Plate D15 from Born Pretty Store.
  • Different color polishes that I mixed to paint over the stamping.
  • Small detail brush.
  • Seche Vite top coat.

Once stamped I mixed some polishes on a piece of plastic and painted over with a small detail brush just to add a bit of color and detailed little prickly pears on the cacti. I really like how it turned out.

See you soon!

NEON GEOMETRIC

Hola chicas!

Last night was playing with another of my new plates, First I was only using the geometric patterns on it, but as I looked closer I kept finding hidden animals and bugs. I absolutely love this plate!

Started off with the white base and then used the reverse or advanced stamping technique to fill in the colors on the image with a bunch of kleancolor neons.

What I used:

  • White polish; base 1 coat.
  • Kleancolor " Neon Orange"; reverse stamping.
  • Kleancolor " Neon Green"; reverse stamping.
  • Kleancolor " Neon Yellow"; reverse stamping.
  • Kleancolor " Neon Aqua"; reverse stamping.
  • Mabelle "Black"; stamping.
  • Plate Flowers 13 from aliexpress.
  • Seche Vite top coat.
I have included shots of both hands as they're a bit different because I wanted to show off the little animals I found and different parts of the patterns.

Look at that cute snail!

And this colorful bird

BLACK LACE

Hola Chicas!

This mani was more to swatch my new plates I got from Aliexpress than a planned one, and I was looking forward to have a play with the one with the lacey patterns.

What I used:

  • Kleancolor " Story of my heart"; base 2 coats.
  • Aliexpress plate Flowers 09
  • Marbell " Black"; for stamping.
  • Seche Vite topcoat.

Story of my heart is a nude with iridescent holo particles, it is really pretty in person and perfect if you want to wear something subtle but not boring. The black polish was one of those finds, it cost me less than a dollar (about £.50 p) and I got it mainly as a black creme base but when tested for stamping it was superb, it dries a bit quick but if you are used to work with non stamping polishes it shouldn't be a problem.

Trying to squeeze the last couple of summer manis before we roll into fall.

What I used:

  • Pure Ice "Bikini"; base, 2 coats.
  • MDU stamping polishes; pastel pink, pastel orange, green and black.
  • Pure Ice "Deja Vu"; reverse stamping in butterfly.
  • Color Club " Over the Moon"; butterfly.
  • Color Club "Eternal Beauty"; butterfly.
  • Plate Moyou London Mother Nature 14
  • Plate KM01 (dupe of the DRK designer series)
  • Seche Vite; top coat.
After letting the base dry, I stamped the grass, flowers and dandelions and used the reverse stamping technique for the butterflies.

BLUE MAJOLICA - INSPIRED BY D&G SUMMER 2015

Hola chicas!

Today's mani is fashion inspired by one of my all time favs D&G and their Summer 2015 Collection "Blue Majolica".

What I used:

  • IM nails in White; base, 2 coats.
  • Kleancolor "Slumber Party" (matte); for stamping.
  • Bissu "Oro Liquido"; stamping accent nail.
  • Plate MoYou London Fairytail collection 02; accent nail.
  • MoYou London Greek Mythology 08.
  • Color Club Matte top coat.

Had to use the decal technique because as I stamped with a matte nail polish it dried very quickly.

RAINBOW GARDEN

Hola chicas!

Hope you all having a fantastic week. Today's mani is tackling one more unused plate.

What I used:

  • Moldel's Own "Snow White"; base 2 coats.
  • MDU neon polishes; stamping polishes.
  • BP Store plates QA83 & QA61
  • Kleancolor "Mr. Righ"; holo top coat.
  • Seche Vite; top coat.
Started off with 2 coats of Snow White and then applied MDU polishes in diagonal over the plate to create a rainbow, scraped to blend the colors and then stamped on the nail. As I wasn't very happy with how it came out I tried to fix it with a coat of Mr. Right and it worked!

Have to say wasn't all that happy at first but I couldn't stop staring at my nails when I was in the sunlight yesterday, Mr. Right was a game changer, is just that I can manage to take a good pic to make it justice.

Photo credit goes to my hubs

PINK BLOOMS

Hola Chicas!

Yesterday one of my SIL's came to visit and asked if I could do her nails, this was the first time she heard of stamping and was hooked! I have her a quick tutorial and she loved it.

What I used:

  • China Glaze "Wanderlust"; base, 2 coats.
  • Color Club "Eternal Beauty"; stamping.
  • Pueen Encore SE01A
  • Seche Vite; top coat.

She was very pleased and I was happy to turn her into another stamping lady fella.

CHROME ROSES

Hola Chicas!

To easy my "no buy anxiety" I decided to use all my unused plates and images, hence this mani. It is very girly I would say, but I really like how it turned out.

What I used:

  • China Glaze Pack lightly; base 2 coats.
  • Bissu Metalico in Metalarte; stamping.
  • Bissu Metalico in Galactica; stamping.
  • Moyou London Artist Collection 11; stamping plate.
  • Organic Nails Kapping Top Coat.

Even when I'm not too much of a pink fan, I really love this shade, which leans more on to the peach hue with a subtle shimmer that is more evident in the bottle than on the nail. Start off with Pack lightly let dry and then stamp with Metalarte and Galactica; I put some random spots of both on the plate and then scrape to blend the colors for a gradient effect. I have to say I will be combining these 2 more often!

So that's it ladies, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Nos vemos, see you soon :)

ABSTRACT RAINBOWS

Hola chicas!

I know I've been lazy last week, but the weather it's been so nice that I have spent most of the day playing outside, having bbq's and going down the river in picnics and treks with my hubs and little boy with no chance to sit down and do nails.

Today's mani is quite of a mixture, I wanted to use the lead light technique or as my hubs calls it: "your coloring book nails" and an accent. I must say it started as something a bit different than the final result but I'm really pleased on how they turned out.

What I used:

  • Kleancolor White; base, 2 coats.
  • Bunch of DIY polishes that I mixed from assorted Kleancolors.
  • Nail art brush.
  • MDU black
  • Hehe026; for the lines.
  • KD27; for the Pegasus on accent nail.
  • Kleancolor Mr. Right; holo glitter top coat
  • Kleancolor Love you teal I find someone better; glitter.
  • Kleancolor All that glitters and glows; glitter.
  • Kleancolor Starry sky; glitter.
  • Seche vite; top coat
After letting the white base dry I stamped the lines with plate Hehe026 and then filled the lines with the jelly colors using a fine nail art brush and then put a coat of Mr. Right for some holo glittery fabulousness. For the accent nail I layered all the glitters, let that dry and the stamped the pegasus with plate KD27 and for some extra I added a star shaped glitter.

I should of take a pic of all the glitters layered because they look so pretty and they work really well together, I think I will do a simple mani just with this glitter sandwich combo.

Hope you girls like it as much as I do.
Nos vemos and thank you for stopping by!

HOLO & FUNKY FLOWERS

Hola Chicas!

Hope you all had a great weekend. For today's Mani Monday I have one of the beloved Halo Hues topped with some colorful stamping.

What I used:

  • Color Club Harp On It; base, 2 coats.
  • MDU Black; stamping polish.
  • Pueen SE02B; stamping plate.
  • Assorted neons.
  • Seche Vite top coat.

Start off with 2 coats of Harp On It and while it dried I proceed with the stamping using the reverse stamping or advanced stamping technique. Having a couple of stampers comes in handy as you can work with them while the other dries and speed everything up. Once the decals are dry, started peeling off gently, then place the decal as desired on the nail and applied top coat, clean up and ready.

Daylight shot

Indoors shot

Here's both daylight and indoors shot. I can say it's the first time in quite some time that I really like a mani and it turns out exactly like I wanted it.

What you girls think?
Thanks for stopping by, nos vemos!

PURPLE MOSAIC

Hola chicas!

I created this mani because on my last haul I got a few polishes from Color Club's Modern Mosaic collection from 2014's spring I think, and I wanted to use them to decide if they are keepers or not. I grabbed "Love you to pieces" and "Subway station". They are very dense matte micro round glitter, 2 coats for full coverage.

What I used:

  • Franken shimmery blurple; base 1 coat. (can't even remember what I put in it to make this color)
  • Color Club "Love you to pieces"; 2 coats.
  • MDU Black; for stamping.
  • BM414
  • Seche Vite; top coat.

For the ring finger I did a decal with the same stamp and a bunch of purples. Maybe in the pics is hard to capture the effect but in person it looks rather cool and I like it very much, so it was a nice surprise how good it turned out.

I need to find another top coat as I have noticed that Seche goes dull after a few hours and I like the super shiny gel like finish.

So what do you girls think?

Hope you liked, thanks for stopping by.

TROPICAL GRADIENT

Hola Chicas,

I'm back and starting off the week with a tropical gradient that screams summer!

For the base I used 2 kleancolor polishes from their texture 3D range, it reminds me of the pixie dust; they are very pigmented and rather thick in consistency but very easy to apply and best of all, they're 1 coaters! The colors are vibrant and packed with micro glitter that gives them that "gritty" texture and also have  hex glitter in different sizes.
The texture reminded me of pineapples and so I wanted to sort of translate that and finally use my MYL Tropical plate that's been sitting on my drawers since Christmas.

What I used:

  • Kleancolor Sumer Grace; base, started off at the cuticle thru mid length.
  • Kleancolor So Cal Gal; base, mid length to tip.
  • Kleancolor Barbie Pink; dabbed on to tips with a sponge.
  • Kleancolor Neon Orange, base on ring finger.
  • MDU # 39
  • MDU Neon Yellow
  • MYL Tropical 01
  • Winstonia W118
  • Seche Vite top coat

Below is the pic before stamping so you can appreciate at the base colors, how nicely they blend even they are textured.

I really liked how it turned out but I must say the MYL plate is not one of my favs really.

Hope you like it as well, thanks for stopping by.

POPTASTIC FLORAL MANI

Hola Hola!

Long time no see, I hope to get on track with blogging again as now I'm back and settled with new computer and wifi fixed yeeeiiii.

Let's get straight into it. Summer is now on full swing and weather here in UK has been rather nice, neons and brights all over the place but I was craving something more muted but just as colorful. I must admit I'm not loving the way the stamping looks, is not just what I envisioned in my head (yeah, everything is SO MUCH better in my head) but the base color is to die for. I would dare to say it is my fav shade of the season.

What I used:

- Color Club in Dancing Queen; base, 2 coats.
- Pueen Encore SE03B
- Caviar beads
- MDU in Pastel blue; for stamping.
- Seche Vite; top coat

Personally I think the color combo looks very nice and although the images are stamped very crisp I cannot really tell what is stamped on, at the distance looks like just a blue spot, not what I was going for. Maybe is just the image choice.
For accent I put some caviar beads at the center of each flower and that's pretty much it.

See you soon, please comment and let me know what you think.
